You will be swimming upstream, so against the gentle flow of old Father Thames, or Isis at this point. Setting off from Donnington Bridge you will be swimming upstream towards Christ Church Meadows.Enjoy this location in all its splendour within the heart of Oxford.

Swim along this beautiful stretch of the River Thames through the organic pastures of Oxford University land. This swim is aimed at all levels of swimmers. Either you’re looking for your first taste of river swimming or you’re training for an Iron Man and would like to swim the full distance before your main event. The swim starts at Eynsham Lock and finishes 4km downstream at Kings Lock. And because it’s with the flow of the river it makes progress a little easier.

This is the “biggy”. Following the beautiful meandering River Thames from Farmoor to Godstow Lock. At approximately 2k you’ll exit the river at Pink Hill Lock then at 4k you’ll exit the river at Eynsham Lock, feed station , re-enter the river downstream, 4K to Kings lock feed station. The last stretch to Godstow 2K some of this will be walking around kings lock before river re-entry. Overall distance including walked sections 10K.
